Tourist attractions

Our hotel l'Orangeraie d'Afa is very well located in the region of the great Ajaccio. You will find yourself near the sea and the mountains.

Afa and its region

Afa is the plain of the village of Bocognano, the highest commune of the Gravona valley. In the past, it was the territory of winter transhumance of the shepherds of Bocognano. Its lands extend at the foot of Monte Gozzi and its red cliffs. Because of its proximity to the imperial city, this commune has developed a lot and has become a very large "Village". It has managed to preserve its rich and fertile natural environment, where crops and orchards, especially orange trees, flourish. Its medieval church, "Sant'Antonu", is visible from our hotel.

Hiking

For the amateurs of hike, that of the Monte Gozzi, is impossible to circumvent. This majestic granite rock on the heights of Afa, which culminates at 714 meters, dominates the valley of Gravona, the Gulf of Ajaccio and the Gulf of Lava.
From San Petru in Cuttuli è Curtichjatu, you can discover the Monte d'Ignascu which culminates at 888 meters. It separates the valleys of the Gravona and the Prunelli.
It is a belvedere which offers a splendid view on the gulf of Ajaccio.

Nearby beaches

The golden sandy beach of Lava, about 1km long, is very pleasant and family oriented. The gulf of Lava has kept its wild side, even if of course, in August, you will not be alone.

On the Ajaccio side, you have the Ricantu beach, just before the airport, it is the closest. When leaving the city, you will discover the magnificent beaches of the Sanguinaires. You also have the very beautiful beaches of Porticcio, on the south shore of Ajaccio.
